"Chris Wesberry's areas of expertise include diversity management and native education policy. He helps create and implement leadership development opportunities for Chickasaw Nation citizens and employees."

Since February 2016, Mr. Wesberry has been the senior manager of Chickasaw Institute – home to the Chickasaw Leadership Academy – where he and his staff redeveloped the curriculum, implemented career training as well as leadership development opportunities for citizens and employees of the Chickasaw Nation. He now oversees multiple programs that assist Chickasaw citizens with career development. He was employed at Southeastern Oklahoma State University from October 2005 to February 2016. He was the previous executive director of the Native American Institute and co-director of the Master of Science in Native American Leadership (MSNAL) online program at SOSU. In these positions, he served as a Native American academic advisor, grant writer/principal investigator and project director for various federal grants that focused on Native American student retention and teacher development.

Mr. Wesberry has taught undergraduate courses on psychology, college success for Native American students, native education policy, native policy and law, and the Natchez Trace. He continues to teach as an adjunct instructor in the MSNAL online program at SOSU where he has taught courses on managing diversity, native education policy, tribal sovereignty, ethnohistory, and geography and treaties. He holds two master's degrees, one in secondary education and another in school counseling. He earned his doctorate in higher education leadership in 2017. He has 12 years of experience working for the Chickasaw Nation, seven of which were in higher education programming. He lives in Madill, Oklahoma with his wife Stacy (a SOSU graduate). They have a daughter and a son who both graduated from SOSU.
