Theory and application of statistical and quantitative techniques to various types of business data. Emphasis is on the interpretation and use of data analysis results from a manager's perspective. Use of statistical computer software is an integral part of course. Both descriptive and inferential statistics are covered.

This course covers the practice and theory of managers making financial decisions for the firm. The basis for all decisions builds from the premise of maximizing shareholder wealth. Topics include risk and return tradeoffs, valuing stock and bonds, evaluating choices among sources of capital and capital structure, evaluating dividend policy, evaluating the selecting expansion projects, using derivative securities to managing risk, firm valuation, and short-term cash management.

A capstone course for graduate students in the last stage of their coursework toward an MBA degree. It covers the integration of the skill and functions of management to develop long range plans and to implement and manage the efforts directed toward the accomplishment of organizational objectives.

This literature-based course emphasizes the individual as decision maker and focuses on ethical issues and dilemmas facing managers and leaders in organizations. The objectives of the course are to raise students' general awareness of ethical dilemmas, to place ethical issues within a management context, to enhance and improve the ability of students to reason toward a satisfactory resolution of an ethical dilemma.

Admissions


Southeastern Oklahoma State University's online MBA program has specific requirements that applicants must meet to enroll. Please read the admission guidelines to ensure you qualify.

To meet the admission requirements for SOSU’s online MBA degree program, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA or minimum 3.0 GPA in the last 60 semester hours of courses, or
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 2.5 overall GPA or minimum 2.75 GPA in last 60 semester hours of courses, AND at least three years of continuous professional work experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 2.5 overall GPA or minimum 2.75 GPA in last 60 semester hours of courses, AND a portfolio consisting of a letter of application which outlines the applicant's career goals and objectives and how an MBA degree will enhance them; a current resume, three professional letters of recommendation, or
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university and at least 9 hours in a graduate program from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must be in good standing at previous university.
  • No GMAT is required for the Southeastern Oklahoma State University online MBA

Non-Business Undergraduate course requirements:

Our MBA is designed for students with diverse undergraduate backgrounds and is suitable for business and non-business graduates. For students entering the MBA program whose undergraduate degree is not in business, finance or a related field, pre-requisite course work may be required before enrolling in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Data/Research courses. Students must satisfy pre-requisite course work or present proof of course work equivalency for the following:

  • ACCT 2103 Fund of Financial Accounting
  • ACCT 2203 Fund of Managerial Accounting
  • ECON 2213 Principles of Microeconomics
  • BUS 2633 Business Statistics

Our MBA is designed for students with diverse undergraduate backgrounds and is suitable for business and non-business graduates. If you do not have a bachelor's in business, pre-requisites can be satisfied online, with four 1-week leveling courses. Our Enrollment Specialists will be able to provide you with more information on these 1-week courses.


International Application and Admissions Requirements:

Please note, unfortunately, students with an F-1 visa are ineligible for online programs. Scan and email #2, #4 and #5 to International Student Services at iss@se.edu

  1. Complete Profile (this will also serve as the application)
  2. Academic Records:
    • Original final post-secondary transcript(s) and diploma(s) from each college or university attended. If your transcript is not issued in English, we require the original document as well as an English translation done by your school(s) or a professional translating company. Original = issued by a school or examination board with an official signature and school stamp or seal.
    • Post-secondary records from outside the U.S. must be analyzed by a NACES educational credential evaluation service such as IERF or WES or ECE. For IERF, students need to choose the "detailed report" option and select Southeastern Oklahoma State University from the menu. IERF will send the evaluation of your records to our International Student Services office.
  3. English Proficiency: Internet-based TOEFL score of 79 or an IELTS Academic score of 6.5; taken within 2 years of enrollment.
    • For TOEFL, let us know your registration number and have your score report sent to Southeastern (institution code: 6657).
    • For IELTS, let us know your TRF number.
    • You do not need TOEFL or IELTS scores if:
      1. English is your first language
      2. You have a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university.
      3. You have a bachelor’s degree from an English-medium institution outside the U.S.
  4. Financial Support: Submit a Graduate Affidavit of Financial Support along with an original bank statement stamped and signed by a bank official (within 6 months of your enrollment) demonstrating that your sponsor has a liquid US$ balance that covers the cost of your enrollment at Southeastern for the first year of your degree program. All documents must be in English. If not, an English translation must accompany the original.
  5. Passport Name Page: Copy of the biographic page of your passport showing your name, date of birth, passport number and expiration date. If dependents will accompany you to Southeastern, provide copies of their passport biographic pages, along with marriage and birth certificates, as applicable, to verify your family relationship.
  6. US $55.00 Application Fee: This is not refundable. You have two options for making the payment:
    • Credit card: Call the Southeastern Business Office (+1-580-745-2350) with a credit card number and your Student ID (we will e-mail your student ID number to you after you submit the Complete Profile). Note: Please tell the Business Office that you are an international applicant.
    • Money order: Pay to Southeastern Oklahoma State University (in US$ and with your name on it).
