Authored a monograph on Social Media, Public Schools and the Law published by the Education Law Association
Received (with Dr. Sally Zepeda) the Paula Silver Award for Case of the Year, Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership

Aside from the Bible, John Knowles' A Separate Peace illustrates the essential skill of critical thinking.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in education?
Patience and an attitude of learning. Both are essential in navigating the ever-evolving world of public education.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that educators face today?
Finding new and innovative ways to motivate a diverse student population within the context of today's high-stakes accountability environment.
Tell us something that your students might find interesting, something they may not know about you.
I have researched the JFK assassination since 1975, including a number of key eyewitnesses. I am also a church organist and I hold Colleague certification with the American Guild of Organists.
