Taking the GRE or any other type admissions test can be costly and time consuming. Fortunately, admission to Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s online M.Ed. programs does not require the GRE or any other kind of exam.
SOSU’s Admission Requirements
Prospective students must meet certain requirements to be eligible for SOSU’s online Master of Education programs. If you’re interested in enrolling, you must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university. In addition, there are certain GPA requirements for admission:
- A minimum 2.75 GPA or a minimum 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credit hours; OR
- A minimum 2.0 GPA, along with a current resume, a professional letter of recommendation and a cover letter explaining your career goals and how the Master of Education program you are applying for fits your career objectives; OR
- At least 6 hours of graduate-level work at a regionally accredited university with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and good standing at the previous university.
In addition, some programs, such as the Master of Education in School Counseling, require the applicant to have a current teaching license.
Admission for International Students
Please note that international students on an F-1 visa are not eligible for SOSU’s online programs.
Otherwise, if you’re an international student, you will need to have a TOEFL score of at least 79 or an IELTS Academic score of at least 6.5. You have to have taken the English proficiency test within the last two years. You won’t need to prove your English proficiency if English is your first language, if you already have a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university, or if your bachelor’s degree is from a university that uses English as its language of instruction, even if the university is outside the United States.
If you’re looking for an M.Ed. program that you can start right away, one of SOSU’s online programs might be a good fit. The application process is quick and doesn’t require any exams.
